“The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives
understanding to the simple.” Psalm 119:130
I am Terri Mulberry, a simple sheep in need of a Shepherd.
In the summer of 2012, I finally pursued a desire that I’ve
had for many years. I copied a chart off
the internet to read through a harmony of the Gospels. Through my Bible studies over the years, I’ve
understood the birth of Jesus and His early years right up through His baptism,
temptation, and the miracle at Cana.
I’ve understood the closing week of His earthly life from His triumphal
entry into Jerusalem through His ascension.
But everything in between is a jumble.
In my mind, Jesus just went around healing, preaching, delivering, and
rebuffing the Pharisees in a flurry of activity that filled the three and a
half years between His baptism and resurrection.
So finally after over 45 years of knowing the Lord, I’m
beginning to get a clue as to the chronology of Jesus’ ministry. Already I can tell it’s going to take more
than one read to nail this down, but that is fine with me. I expect to have an eternity of learning Him
ahead of me.
When I started this quest, I began to see things in
Scripture that I had never seen before, so I wrote down some of my
thoughts. I wondered if anyone else
would be helped, encouraged, or challenged by what I wrote. If I started a blog to share my thoughts
would anyone read it? What would I title
my blog?
Throughout our marriage, my husband and I have been in
ministry. It has always helped me to
keep a healthy perspective to think of myself and those we minister to as
sheep, because, well…God actually calls us that…sheep. It’s not very flattering, but sheep we are. Since I began my reading of the Gospels, I am growing more
in my love for my precious Shepherd. And every day I see myself as just a simple sheep in the Shepherd's care. As I share my thoughts, I hope that they encourage, edify, and admonish you in your walk with the Shepherd, too.
There must be millions of blogs out in cyber space. Why would anyone want to read what I
write? If you are one of the rare ones
that do, please feel free to comment—agree, oppose, challenge, encourage. I’d love to hear from you!
May you love the Shepherd more today than yesterday! Baa…baa…for now!
Hahah. Baa baa for now. I really did laugh out loud. Looking forward to your writing!! I am interested to see this study. :)
